Test Today

In Human Geo we took our unit 2 test. I felt good about the test because I studied everything we went over in class yesterday. I knew most of the answers. Also, I felt like I did well on my essay because I studied and remembered that too. Most of the questions on the test were easy, but I didn't know a few of them because I didn't study those questions that well. One of the questions that I think I did well on was, the one when it asked where the prime meridian ran through. I knew that it ran through Greenwich. But one of the questions I felt I didn't do well on was when it asked what the longitude and latitude lines were called.

Review of Site and Situation

Today in class we went over more about site and situation, but we also made up some questions that could be on out test. We went over that situation will help you find an unfamiliar place by using a familiar one, you could do this by using landmarks. We also went over site and an example of site is how close Harford County is to Baltimore. This is good because now we can get imported goods from the Harbor quickly because of how close we are. Another example is Singapore, this is a good example because Singapore has a lot of Jobs because they are the center of trading and goods from Southeast Asia, so that allows for a lot of people to have jobs. Maps of the world

Today we went over the map paper we got last week. We also discussed about how there could be a world war three because the world is starting to have conflicts again between all of the continents. For example if we try to get rid of Korea's missiles by sending one over to them we could accidentally hit China and then there would be a conflict between the two countries and the US. We also talked about how there is so much drama with the world not only between the countries but also people within the countries. After we talked about the conflicts between the countries we discussed how people took a knee instead of standing for the national anthem. We talked about how when soldiers take the pledge they pledge to protect their freedom in the country not for the flag or for the national anthem. Hans Rosling

In class today, we watched a video with Hans Rosling teaching us about Global Health. He told us that the x axis measures life expectancy from 25 to 50 to 75 years. Then he told us that the y axis is wealth and that is measured from 400 to 4000 to 40000 dollars. The poor and sick groups were in the lower left of the graph. And in the upper right corner is the rich and wealthy class. In 1810 the UK and the Netherlands were the 2 richest classes in the world at that time. During the middle of the video we talked about the flu and how many people dies from it. 10,000 people died from the flu and the people who dies from it were the younger kids and the older people. Another thing that made the nations drop was World War 1 but once the world ended the nations went back to the top of the life expectancy.
