Review of Site and Situation

Today in class we went over more about site and situation, but we also made up some questions that could be on out test. We went over that situation will help you find an unfamiliar place by using a familiar one, you could do this by using landmarks. We also went over site and an example of site is how close Harford County is to Baltimore. This is good because now we can get imported goods from the Harbor quickly because of how close we are. Another example is Singapore, this is a good example because Singapore has a lot of Jobs because they are the center of trading and goods from Southeast Asia, so that allows for a lot of people to have jobs. Kiva extra credit

Kiva is a website that allows for people who need a loan to produce something or help their community. Kiva does this by putting how much money the people need to do the task they need to do, and then people can go onto the website and loan money to the people who need it. Once the person completes the task they needed to be done the money will be returned to the loaner. But before you decide if you want to loan your money to this person you can learn more about why they need the money and you can see if the reasoning is a good reason to need the money.  Kiva has about $2.5 million loans each week, this shows that a lot of people use this website, but it also shows that the money will always be returned to the loaner.  One person who needs a loan is Melancio. Review Day

In class today, we didn't really do any work, but we went over the questions that could be on the mid-term. Some of the questions on the test could be about cartography, site, and location. We talked about Greenwich time which is where the prime meridian runs through and the main spot of the time zones. There are 27 different time zones and GPS stands for Global Positioning System. We looked up how many people are in the world and there were 7.4 billion people. After we talked about the multiple-choice questions we talked about the essay question. So, we talked about the different stages and what countries are in those stages.
